Pumpkins: McKayla
Thanksgiving Pumpkins:
For this lesson, we read a book and talked about things that we are thankful for. Additionally, we practiced creating designs that we could draw on our pumpkins. We drew our pumpkins, cut them out, then drew five different designs on them. Afterwords, we glued our pumpkins to a piece of black construction paper, then cut it out as well.
Extension Activity: Along with creating this pumpkin, students could create a story using the pumpkin. Students will write a narrative about fall or Thanksgiving, that must have a least five main points or paragraphs. In each section of the pumpkin, they will draw an image, design, or words that demonstrate what happened in that paragraph of the story. Then, they can retell their story using their pumpkin.
