Summary: For this project, we drew an animal with a blue colored pencil. Then, we drew a pattern with red, yellow, and orange crayons on top of it. We also created red glasses that allowed us to see the animal underneath the pattern. Lastly, we wrote three clues about what our animal was.
Extension Activity: After reading the story The White Giraffe, students will complete this project. The book is about a very rare giraffe that hides in the jungle and befriends an orphaned girl. The students will draw one of the rare animals talked about in the book. For their pattern, they will use details from the book to create their patterns in a way that resembles the environment of the book. Lastly, they will do their clues, and also write their own story about the animal they drew.
