Pumpkin Patch
Lesson Name: Pumpkin Patch
Lesson Description: For this lesson, we learned about pointillism, who created it, where it was created, and what it is. Then, we learned how to draw pumpkins and trees, and drew them on our paper. We worked with watercolor to create the sky, the color in the pumpkins, and the dirt. Then, we used a q-tip and temper paint to create leaves on the trees using pointillism. We had to have at least eight pumpkins and three trees.
Extension Activity: I think that math could be incorporated into this lesson. Students could be given an equation (2 X 4) and that's how many pumpkins they would need to draw. The same could go for the trees and the leaves on the trees. Students are given an equation or a number and they have to incorporate it into their painting.
